From the French Swiss border area, but French maker. The paper is wider combed marble. Eyepiece is made up of three equally spaced lenses held in place by small friction fit tubes. Paper tubes and paper end rings get progressively smaller. End cap covers are made of vellum. Objective cap has maker's signature "printed" in the interior. The number seven (in 1697) is written by hand, the rest of the inscription is mass produced.
