Public Notes:

"The barrel of this hand-held telescope is made of paper in imitation of sharkskin, while the three draw tubes are made of paper. The fittings are of horn and brass, including a brass eyepiece cap, which is possibly of later date. The objective lens assembly is missing. Black stop lines on the draw tubes indicate the telescope's optimum working length" (Royal Museums Greenwich).
