Public Notes:

"Presumably English telescope. Main tube covered with sharkskin. Three pasteboard drawtubes covered with green paper. Eyepiece made of horn, with a nicely curved brass end. Unsigned. Length 70-157 cm, Ø 6 cm. Middle of the eighteenth century.

While the use of a sharkskin cover on the main barrel points to an English origin, this telescope also has a few features that are normally only found on telescopes made in Italy, like the typical horn ferrules" (Louwman and Zuidervaart, 2013).
