"Main tube covered with black coloured sharkskin. Seven drawtubes, covered with decorative paper. Ferrules and fittings of objective and eyepiece made of olive wood. Length 64-298 cm, Ø 10.5 cm. Objective lens is missing. Unsigned, but based on an almost identical specimen, signed: ‘Fratelli Dolci’ in the Willach-collection, Switzerland, attributable to the Dolci-brothers, a workshop in Venice operational between 1763 and 1793" (Louwman and Zuidervaart, 2013).
