Public Notes:

"English telescope with tubes made of pasteboard. The main tube and the three drawtubes are covered with white parchment with gold tooling. Ditto support rings of identical diameter. The tooling resembles Turner (1966), nos. 8, 28 and 33. End pieces made of turned ivory . Original optics. Magnification ca. 11x, length 25-63 cm, Ø 4 cm. Unsigned, but on the basis of the arguments presented above possibly made by Richard Reeve(s) or Christopher Cock. Presumably third quarter of the seventeenth century" (Louwman, and Zuidervaart, 2013).
