"The barrel of this telescope made of wood and covered with red leather that has been deocrated with gold tooling. There are four draw tubes made of green vellum with leather collars, each with a black stop line. The style of the telescope suggests that it is French. The lens mounts are made of wood, but all the lenses are missing" (Royal Museums Greenwich).
