"Main tube and ferrules covered with black shark skin. Five green coloured drawtubes with gold tooling and ivory caps. A 4-element compound eyepiece is contained inside the tube illustrated with red and blue coloured marbled paper. This tube (with the eyepiece inside it) belongs in the smallest drawtube with the green colour. Length 27-95 cm, Ø 4 cm. Signed on the objective: ‘Pierre Patroni à Milan’. First quarter of the eighteenth century" (Louwman and Zuidervaart, 2013).
